Evaluation Of Tourism Eco-efficiency In Chongqing And The Influencing Factors

In recent years,Chongqing tourism develops rapidly with its rich natural resources and cultural landscape.The environmental pressure brought by the rapid growth of tourism scale is also increasing.Under the background of "carbon peak" and "carbon neutral",how to reduce carbon dioxide emission and improve ecological efficiency of tourism while increasing tourism economy is a big problem for the green development of tourism industry.This thesis selects the weak field of urban tourism eco-efficiency,and proposes the realization path of Chongqing’s tourism green development on the basis of the evaluation of Chongqing’s tourism eco-efficiency,so as to improve Chongqing’s tourism ecoefficiency and achieve the "double carbon" goal as scheduled.This paper carries on indepth research from the following four aspects.Firstly,the theoretical basis and research status at home and abroad are clarified.On the basis of clarifying the research background,significance,content and methods,this paper analyzes the theory of sustainable tourism,the theory of economic efficiency and the theory of ecological economy,and summarizes the literature related to the concept,calculation,space-time evolution and influencing factors of tourism ecological efficiency.It pays attention to tracking the research frontier,so that this research is located at a higher starting point.Secondly,the paper analyzes the general situation of Chongqing’s tourism development and carbon emission,and clarifies the basic conditions of tourism development from four aspects: tourism resources,tourism commodities,tourism facilities and tourism market scale.From the analysis of carbon dioxide emissions of tourism transportation,tourism activities and tourism accommodation,it is found that the carbon dioxide emissions of Chongqing’s tourism industry are large and the increase is large.Thirdly,an empirical study is made on the evaluation and influencing factors of tourism eco-efficiency in Chongqing.Based on the statistical data from 2000 to 2021,the super efficiency SBM model based on undesired output was established to analyze and evaluate the tourism ecological efficiency of Chongqing.OLS regression model was introduced to verify the influencing factors of tourism eco-efficiency in Chongqing.The results show that the overall level of tourism eco-efficiency in Chongqing is good.Redundant tourism resources,insufficient tourism economy and excessive carbon emissions are the main factors that make Chongqing eco-tourism efficiency in non-DEA effective.Economic development level,tourism development level and traffic structure have a positive impact on tourism eco-efficiency,while product structure,opening-up degree and population structure have a negative impact on tourism eco-efficiency.Tourism industry structure,education level,environmental regulation and technology level have no significant impact on tourism eco-efficiency.Finally,based on the evaluation of Chongqing’s tourism eco-efficiency,this paper summarizes the problems existing in the green development of Chongqing’s tourism,such as increasing tourism carbon emissions,low tourism economy and unbalanced regional tourism development,and puts forward ideas and countermeasures from the aspects of reducing tourism carbon emissions,promoting sustainable tourism development and strengthening regional low-carbon tourism integration development.It provides reference for the green development of Chongqing tourism.
