Study On The Efficiency Of Regional Tourism Industry From The Perspective Of Low-carbon

The tourism industry has become the largest industry all over the world,but the extensive mode of tourism industry doesn't match with the development of tourism power.The environmental problems,especially the problem of tourism carbon emissions,have been a short board of tourism competitiveness of China.In that case,as a strategic pillar industry of China,the tourism industry must take the responsibility of energy-saving and emission-reduction,and the low-carbon tourism has become an important carrier to develop low-carbon economy and make it to be tourism power.Considering the concept of efficiency and productivity,the paper introduces tourism carbon emissions as an undesirable output into the research of efficiency of tourism industry based on a series of general research,the measurements of tourism carbon emissions and intensity during the year of 2005-2015 among 27 provinces(cities)are mainly based on the tourism consumption coefficient,then the SBM model and Malmquist-Luenberger index are used to measure the efficiency of tourism industry and its dynamic changes,the inefficiency of tourism industry can also be decomposed.Finally,the TOBIT model is used to discuss the influencing factors of the efficiency of tourism industry,which is based on summarizes of literature related to influencing factors of tourism industry.The results show that:(1)during the year of 2005-2015,the tourism carbon emissions and intensity of 27 provinces(cities)vary from each other significantly.The rank of regional tourism carbon emissions from high to low is eastern,western and central,and the rank of carbon intensity from low to high is eastern,central and western.There is an increase in tourism carbon emissions but a decrease in tourism carbon intensity.(2)There are obvious differences among regional efficiency of low-carbon tourism,and the eastern region is better than the central and western regions.From the dynamic perspective,the efficiency of low-carbon tourism of 27 provinces(cities)and 3 regions change positively on average,and the western region grows fastest on average due to the improvement of technical efficiency and technical progress,while there are technical efficiency improvement but technical regresses in eastern and central regions.(3)The economic scale,economic strength,structure of energy consumption,location quotient and government regulation have a significant positive effect on the efficiency of low-carbon tourism;energy intensity,industrial structure and opening degree have a negative effect;investments in fixed assets,intensity of R&D fund and urbanization rate have no significant influence on the efficiency of low-carbon tourism.Based on the results of empirical analysis,this paper puts forward some suggestions for improving the efficiency of tourism industry,reducing regional differences,developing low-carbon tourism and enhancing tourism competitiveness,but just for reference.
