| At present, the rapid development of digital economy and the deep integration of digital technology and traditional trade induce the new trade mode of digital service trade, which makes the trade of various countries break through the constraints of time, physical space and cost.In 2021,China ranked fifth in the global total digital service export list.Despite the rapid development of China’s digital service trade, there is still much room for improvement. So,"Belt and Road" initiative as an important coupling belt to promote the development of economic quality, study the impact on China’s digital services exports can export digital services for China to provide empirical evidence, and to "Belt and Road" initiative for nearly a decade to evaluate policy results,to promote the construction of discuss and sharing, mutual help and win-win digital silk road has important practical significance. This paper first to the horizontal and vertical analysis of China’s digital service export development status, and then discusses the "Belt and Road" initiative boost China digital service export theory influence, and according to the OECD database published bilateral trade data,in the summary of China digital service industry export value in2005-2019,using the Differences-in-Differences(DID)to evaluate the impact of "Belt and Road" initiative on China’s digital service exports. The study found that: 1)the "Belt and Road" initiative significantly promoted the export of digital services in China, and the conclusion remained robust and effective after the validity analysis of DID setting,PSM-DID test, and replacement of explained variables.2)Heterogeneity analysis results show that from the perspective of trade objects,"Belt and Road" initiative mainly promotes China’s export of digital services to countries and neighboring countries along the maritime and onshore Silk Road;from the perspective of industry,"Belt and Road" initiative shows significant export promotion effect on the six digital service industries. In addition, this paper uses the Difference-in-Difference-in-Difference(DDD)to further analyze the policy effect under the level of development dimension, and finds that compared with other countries, the export of digital services between China and the developed countries along the "Belt and Road" route has been improved to a greater extent.3)Mechanism inspection results show that the "Belt and Road" initiative promotes China’s digital service export through three channels: policy communication, infrastructure connectivity and people-to-people connectivity.Negotiations and cooperation at the policy level clear away the institutional barriers for the export of digital services;the improvement of digital infrastructure construction and hardware facilities required for digital delivery facilitate network connectivity and strengthen equipment guarantee for digital service export;the narrowing of cultural distance also alleviates the adverse impact of digital services export, thus directly promoting the export of digital services in China. The conclusions of this paper provide policy guidance for China’s expansion in the field of digital trade, which will help to realize the structural optimization and quality improvement of China’s digital service trade. |
