Agricultural Exports From Laos To China Under The Background Of The Belt And Road Initiative Study On Trade Issues

The Belt and Road initiative proposed by the Chinese government has aroused positive responses from relevant countries and regions.Laos is a friendly neighbor of China,and the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative is closely related to the development and interests of Laos.Laos has a small population and slow economic development,so there is still a lot of room for domestic demand.Therefore,agriculture,as the pillar of The Lao economy,also plays an important role in the foreign trade exchanges of Laos.From a national perspective,although The economic growth rate of Laos continues to rise in recent years,it still lags far behind that of neighboring countries due to its low starting point.As a big agricultural country,Laos should give full play to its advantages and expand its foreign trade market with agricultural products,which will contribute to the sustainable economic development of Laos.At present,it will take some time for Laos to march toward an industrialized society,and agriculture still plays an important role in Laos.With the continuous advancement and deepening of Reform and opening-up in Laos,promoting the export trade of agricultural products in Laos can not only promote the economic development of Laos,but also play a significant role in social stability.Therefore,studying the problems and countermeasures of Laos’ agricultural export trade will help Laos to recognize and solve the problems in advance in its future development.Based on China’s "One Belt and One Road" initiative,this paper uses relevant theories and methods to analyze the current situation,problems,causes and countermeasures of agricultural trade cooperation between Laos and China.Respectively through analyzing the following aspects: the first part is the introduction,based on the research of the related literature,the "area" is obtained under the background of Laos to China agricultural product export trade cooperative research background,purpose and significance,and introduced the study of relevant theoretical basis,mainly includes an overview of the regional economic and trade cooperation and the introduction of theory of international trade;The second part mainly introduces the current situation of Agricultural trade between Laos and China under the background of "One Belt and One Road".In this part,the total volume,structure and trend of bilateral trade are analyzed.In the third part,based on the initiative and development background of "One Belt and One Road",SWOT model is constructed to analyze the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats of agricultural export trade between Laos and China.Then in the fourth part,from the perspective of trade cooperation,find out the deficiencies in the process of china-Laos agricultural trade exchanges,and clearly clarify the outstanding problems existing in the bilateral agricultural trade cooperation;The fifth part is a comprehensive review of the existing trade policies of agricultural products between China and Laos,trying to show the current influential policy factors on the trade of agricultural products between the two countries,and laying an institutional foundation for the countermeasures proposed in the following part.The sixth part,in view of the problems in the trade of agricultural products between China and Laos,puts forward corresponding countermeasures to promote the development of agricultural trade between the two countries,and further promote the coordinated development of the two countries’ economy and improve the living standards of the two peoples.
