| Mega-projects occupy an increasingly important position in engineering construction.An accurate identification of project stakeholders and proper handling of stakeholder relationship plays an important role in improving project management,reducing stakeholder risk and achieving the goal of joint efforts of stakeholders.However,the existing research on project success mainly focuses on the identification of success factors,and lacks the consideration of stakeholder relationship and interaction mode between factors.Therefore,exploring the key success factors and their transmission mechanism considering the influence of stakeholdersisimportant for promoting the success of mega-projects.This thesis employes literature analysis and expert interview to identify the critical success factorsof mega-projects,including environment,stakeholder,stakeholder relationship,and lean management capability.This thesis investigates the communication,work and contract strength among stakeholders in the whole life cycle of amega-project.Social Network Analysis(SNA)is then used to analyze the relationship between stakeholdersand calculate the influence level of stakeholders.A combined method of Interpretative Structural Modelling Method(ISM)and Decision-Making Trail and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)is conduted to do the importance analysis ofthe critical success factors,as well as their transmission pattern,i.e.,relative importance,characteristic,and chain of interactions.The results show thatstakeholder satisfaction,clear process quality control and acceptance criteria,cost control,plan and work schedule are the top four criticalsuccess factors,as well as the direct impact factors of the success of mega-projects.This thesis analyzes critical success factors of mega-projects by considering the stakeholder influence.It provides a new insight of the research regarding critical success factors of mega-projects by giving an empirical evidence of transmission mechanism of the critical success factors.This thesis enriches the stakeholder management theory of mega-projects in China and have important theoretical and practical value for promoting the success of mege projects. |
