Study On Countermeasures To Improve The Old-Age Service Level Of The Extremely Poor Rural Elderly In Dongtai City

In recent years,China’s rural population aging,hollowing phenomenon has become increasingly prominent.As the most difficult,most vulnerable and most in need of care among the disadvantaged groups in the society,the elderly in rural areas with extreme poverty,that is,the old people in rural areas with five guarantees,have already affected the harmonious development of the society.Improving the level of elderly care services for the extremely poor in rural areas not only promotes the inheritance and promotion of the fine traditions of the Chinese nation,but also has great significance for maintaining social harmony and stability and sharing the fruits of reform and development.Based on three theories of public goods supply,Maslow’s demand level and welfare pluralism,this paper uses literature research and field interviews to deeply understand the status quo of elderly care services in 14 towns and villages in Dongtai City in terms of basic living security,daily care and nursing.It is found that there are some problems such as low policy awareness rate,poor service quality of nursing staff,lack of spirit and culture of poor people,backward level of rural medical treatment and weak ability of centralized old-age service in Dongtai City.Through analysis and research,this paper comes up with countermeasures to improve the service level of the extremely poor elderly in Dongtai City: give full play to the leading force of the grass-roots government,comprehensively improve the caring ability,enrich the spiritual,cultural and recreational life,interfere to promote the development of medical and health care,and improve the centralized support rate of rural nursing homes for the elderly,so as to better provide for the elderly in Dongtai City.
