All of the fires will produce a lot of smoke, whatever two different fire scenarios or different time in one same scenario, significant difference exists on the smoke, the species of the smoke is very complicated, generally speaking, the fire smoke can be classified as homogenious materials of three categories in higher temperature, (1) gas phase of combustion product; (2) unburnt liquid, solid phase pyrolysis product and minor condensation particles; (3) unburnt combustibles and large quantities of entrained air. There are plentiful poisonous and hazardous elements, corrosive elements and particles in a fire environment of high temperature, oxygen deficiency, which will have great impact on people's lives and properties.Currently, smoke suffocation and toxicosis have been the most important reason of leathality in fire, meanwhile, the swift flowing and propogation of the high temperature smoke, even some unburnt steam blended in the smoke will easily enlarge the fire scenario, so, it is very important to study smoke genearation, characteristics and transportation.The smoke generation, characteristics and transportation have great dependence on the combustible material, the combustion status and the building structure.etc. some other factors will also be involved during the smoke generation and transportation, the biologic experiment takes a great percentage as far as the past research considered in the fire communities with lots of data base established, the technical requirements are in a high level only in a method of physical-chemical method to study the smoke concentration, so, not only the biologic experiment method but also the physical-chemical method is used in this paper, the simulative experiment combined with the theoretical analysis is used here to study the smoke hazard, the building structure of prototype unit is selected in this paper, namely the narrow-long hallway and the side connected rooms combined structure to represent the building assembled by the hallway and the individual room, to carry out systemtic research on the fire smoke generation and transportation, the common building in China are built without the mechanical ventilation, so the natural ventilation is selected as the focus of...
