Part 1 The Change of Otolith Function and Morphologyin Aging Rats1. Click-evoked potentials on the surface of the cervical dura mater of ratsObjective To record the potentials evoked by click on the surface of the spinal cord and to eluciate its origins. Methods 11 male Wistar rats were subdivided into 2 groups. One is the normal control(n=5)and the other is given Amicaxin intramuscularly 400mg/kg/day(n=6). Dynamic auditory threhold was monitored (ABR and high frequecy). The click-evoked potentials on the surface of the cervical spinal cord at the 3th cervical section was recorded when the auditory threhold rised up to 80dBSPL. Results Click-evoked potentials on the surface of the cervical spinal cord still existed after damage of the cochlear function with administration of Amicaxin. The peak latency is 6.13~7.08ms. Conclusion Click-evoked potentials on the furface of the cervical spinal cord of rats originated in the saccule and it will throw some light on understanding of pathology associated wiyh saccule, such as Meniere's disease and Tullio phenomenon.
