Part 1 A Retrospective Review of the Precisely Diagnosis of Congenital Ventricular Septal Defect With EchocardiographyObjective To explore the feasibility of intervention, we reviewed the epidemiology of ventricular septal defect(VSD) and echocardiographic utility in recent years. Materials and Methods Inpatients and outpatients with VSD in Fuwai hospital from November 2002 to November 2004 were investigated. And from them we randomly sampled 120 cases underwent single VSD surgery repaired, male 71 and female 59, aged from 1 to 42 years(7.2 ± 8.1 years). The diagnosis of echocardiography was compared with the surgery results. Results The type of the VSD: perimembranous 81.5%, infundibular 11.1%, muscular 7.4%. The diagnosis accuracy of echocardiography examination was 96. 6%. Variable complications including pulmonary hypertension, atrial septal defect(ASD), patent ductus arteriosus(PDA), left ventricular outlet stenosis(LVOTs), right ventricular outlet stenosis(RVOTs) and valvular insufficiency were found with VSD. The 120 patients underwent single VSD surgery repaired was divided into two groups, group A underwent one time echocardiography examination and group B with two times examination. The diameter of VSD measured by echocardiography: group A was 3 to 12mm(5.5±2.1mm), group B was 3 to 11mm(5.3 ± 1.3mm). Whereas the intraoperative diameter of VSD: group A was 3 to 12mm(6.4 ± 2.5mm), group B was 3 to 11mm(5.9 ± 1.8mm). The echocardiographic measurement had an optimal accuracy. The coefficient of correlation: group A r=0.57, group B r=0.68. The results of twice examination tend to more accurate. Conclusion 1. The size, location and...
