Research Of Cytokine Levels In Expressed Prostatitis Secretion To Chronic Nonbacterial Prostatitis By Acupuncture

PURPOSE There are many people who suffer with chronic prostatitis. We detected several kinds of cytokines in EPS from the patients with chronic nonbacterial prostatitis who received the intervention of acupuncture before and after the treatment. And we set up a control group so that we can study the effect because the treatment of acupuncture in the level of cytokines.MATERIAL AND METHOD The patients came from the clinic who received PPMT and routine examination of EPS. Their scores of pain and discomfort were above 4. Sixty patients were divided into two groups randomly: the acupuncture group and the control group. And there were 30 patients every group. The patients in the control group take Terazosin 2mg once daily. The patients in the acupuncture group received acupuncture one time every 3 days additionally. The acupoints that we choose were Guanyuan, Zhongji, Huiyin, Yinlingquan, and Xuehai. The NIH-CPSI was used by all the patients and EPS was collected before and after the treatment. The examples were set in low temperature. When all the treatment were complete we detected TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-2,IL-6,IFN-γ,IL-8 and IL-10 in EPS by LUMINEX. The scores and result were analyzed by the software of SPSS 13.0 for Windows.RESULT The scores all the patients decreased. The score value decreased of the patients in the acupuncture group was higher than in the control group. The cytokine levels of IL-2, IFN-γ, IL-10 in the acupuncture group were increased significantly after the treatments than before, and IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-8 levels were decreased significantly. There was no difference between the control group before the treatment and after, and the other cytokine levels were similar with the acupuncture group. The changes of cytokine levels in acupuncture group were more significant than the control group. Befbre the treatment compared withⅢB TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-8 levels were higher inⅢA, and IL-10 level was lower. IL-2,IL-6, IFN-γlevels were no difference betweenⅢA andⅢB before the treatment. The acupuncture was more sensitive withⅢA than withⅢB to the levels of cytokines. IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6 levels were strongly associated with the scores, and IL-10 level was strongly inversely. IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-8 levels were strongly associated with the quantity of WBC in EPS and IL-10 level was strongly inversely.CONCLUSION (1) There were therapeutic effects satisfied with the acupuncture of Guanyuan, Zhongji, Huiyin, Yinlingquan, Xuehai. (2)The difference of proinflammatory cytokine levels was significant betweenⅢA andⅢB. (3) The Proinflammatory cytokine levels can decrease after the acupuncture. (4) The local immunologic function of the patients can be adjusted by the acupuncture in cytokines.
