A Study On Chinese Dialect Contact Of Chen Zhou Area In Hunan Province

The Chen Zhou area of Hunan Province is one of the most complicated place of China in dialects.Its dialect kind and dialect distribution have a characteristic very much.There are four main dialects such as Mandarin,Gan dialect,Hakka dialect and Xiang dialect.Such dialectal distribution contributed to form the characteristic of the multivariant contact and evolved into so abundant and complex phenomena of dialect contact.Seven chapters can be divided in the dissertation:The first chapter Overviews Chen Zhou's geographical features,history,types and distribution regional of dialects, and makes brief comments on the research about Chen Zhou' s dialects since the 20^th century.It also introduces the dissertation's content,methods,significance,as well as the spots which have been studied.The second chapter discusses the dialect contact caused by geo-contact in Chen Zhou area.The third chapter discusses the dialect contact in bilingual district in Chen Zhou area. The fourth chapter discusses the comprehensive dialect contact in Chen Zhou area.The fifth chapter aggregates aforesaid discussions,and summarized the characteristics of dialect contact in Chen Zhou area from macro-micro respect.The sixth chapter explores the attribution issue of Yongxing dialect which is controversial from the dialect contact perspective.The seventh chapter describes the phonological systems and features of 4 representative dialects.
