This thesis is on the foundation of forefather's research results, proceeds from primitive document material, combines traits of epoch when writings produced and analyzed the whole style and features of the stories in Qing Dynasty. The study bases on not only the whole but also especial part.In the foreword, I have put detailed research results of scholars in different period on stories in Qing Dynasty. When I accept their fruits, I also point out their disadvantages and shortages.The paper consists of three parts, in all seven chapters. The first part is The sad melody of dynastic changes, which indicates the stories in the last epoch of Ming Dynasty and the inchoate epoch of Qing Dynasty. In this part, there are two chapters included.Chapter One starts with the last epoch of Ming Dynasty and the inchoate epoch of Qing Dynasty, when the number of bequeathed people was the largest in all dynasty, analyzes the explicit peculiarities of bequeathed people in this period and uncovers the deep-seated reasons hiding superficial phenomena from historiography angle and literature angle.Chapter Two starts with writings expressing their emotion in the last epoch of Ming Dynasty and the inchoate epoch of Qing Dynasty. By analyzing the love between bel-esprit and beautiful woman, personage and prostitute, considerate husband and able and virtuous wife, I opens out that a knight of the pen uphold and cherish true feelings in especial days. The second part is The diversiform writings in flourishing Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age, which indicates the stories in Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age. This part includes two chapters——Chapter Three and Chapter Four. Chapter Three starts with connection between stories in Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age and imperial examinations system and discusses emotion toward examinations system of Chinese bookman.Chapter Four studies amalgamation between stories in Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age and vulgar literature from three aspects according to relative connection between stories in Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age that we can call you embody me and I embody you, and explains causations combining time characteristic of Qian-Llong and Jia-Qing age.The last part is The declining music in last phase of feudal society, which indicates the stories after Dao-Guang and Xian-Feng age. This part includes four chapters——Chapter Five, Chapter Six, Chapter Seven and Chapter Eight. With the declining increasingly of imperial examinations and rising gradually of mercantile system, Chapter Five studies that dramatis personae in stories were changed, and the theme reflecting lives of monger replaced the theme reflecting lives of bookman.Chapter Six draws the outline of the corruption phenomena concealing skin-deep flourishing of last phase of feudal society on the background of metaphase and last phase in Qing dynasty.Chapter Seven discusses deep-seated causes why capitalism appeared in China as early as western countries but couldn't grow up.Chapter Eight discusses the romance stories written by Wang Tao in the last age of Qing dynasty.In informal part, I summarize evolvement traits of stories——from elegance to earthliness, according to unitary analysis of stories in Qing dynasty.Appendix combs out the conception and characteristic of this paper.
