The sense of art, which is closely related with children's physical and mental development, is referred to as man's ability to perceive and experience artist's emotion, concept and cognition expressed in audio-visual things. This dissertation is a study on some related questions about the sense of art and children's development.This study falls into five parts. Beginning with distinguishing between the concepts "Art" and "Beauty", the proem section researches into the relationship among some related concepts "The Sense of Art", "The Aesthetic Feeling" and "The Aesthetic Ability". In the following two chapters, i.e., the first and second chapter, the general characteristics of the sense of art of adults and children are preliminarily described. To disclose the "Sphinx mystery" of the sense of art, this section studies three main questions from different dimensions: the prerequisite to arousing the sense of art, the occurrence stages of the sense of art and its internal characteristics. Firstly, an essential prerequisite is required to arouse man's sense of art, the so-called "To Cleanse Person's Spirit", which means that man must get prepared for a transition of spirit from the usual state to the special one under which dialogue with artwork is desired. Secondly, the occurrence of sense of art will go through several stages, generally speaking, which involves the stage of perceiving artwork and the stage of experiencing artwork. Thirdly, the sense of art has five main internal characteristics, including emotive, intuitive, productive, perceivable and changeable quality. Besides the above qualities, children's sense of art, compared with that of adults, has some particularities. For concreteness, children's potentiality for the sense of art is innate, the development of the sense of art features the quality of stage, and their sense of art is closely related with children's artistic activities. In the third chapter, this dissertation researches into the vital significance of the sense of art on children'sdevelopment. The key point is that excellent sense of art can benefit the coordinated and healthy development in children's body and soul. Specifically, excellent sense of art can promote children's overall participation in the process of art activities, help children cultivate an aesthetic mode of life, and reconcile the internal contradiction of unbalanced development in children's perceptual and rational abilities. In the fourth chapter, three new noticeable questions about developing sense of art are put forth, including encouraging interest, paying attention to diversification and strengthening experience. Afterwards, this paper puts forward some tactics of art education activities for developing children's sense of art, including interesting play, changing form's factors of artwork, activating body activities and connecting various senses. These tactics are analyzed along with practical activity cases.
