Haian is in the middle of Tongtai.Haian Dialcet has its own feature besides the commonness of tongtai Dialect, and the research on it has very high value. The former research on this Dialcet was mostly focused on the description of the phonology of Haian County, and lacked of diachronic phonetic changes and Geographical distribution so far. We have already finished the field-reseach of 28 townships in Haian. This paper analysis the phonetic geographical distribution of all the Townships and Summarize differences, all the works were based on the first-hand data. This thesis analysis the synchronic phonetic change comprehensively, discuss the age differences and trends of Haian Dialcet.Under Middle Chinese phonetic system,we analyze phonetic changes with the method of phonetics. Andalso clarifying the historical strata of the various forms of pronunciation. In addition,we study on the fricativization of [i][y] in Tong-Tai dialect and the division of Shen(深)Zhen(臻)Zeng(曾)Geng(梗)XianTian(先天)final groups. This dissertation includes six Chapters:The first chapter is the introduction, which introduced the historical and geographical background, methodology, source material and other relative issues of this research. The seconed chapter includes two part. The first part introduced the downtown dialect phonetic system, making language phonology chart and analysis of experimental Phonetics. The seconed part descriped the phonetic change of Haian Dialect, includes continuous tone sandhi, neutral tone, retroflex and so on.We also discussed diminutive tone in Haian Dialcet, such as [-r] tonal changes.Besides,we analysis the age differences and development trend from the pronunciation of plosives, affricates which developed from ancient voiced initial consonants, the mix of n/l,pronunciationg of Ying(影)Yi(疑) final groups, words of labial consonant and Xie(蟹)Zhi(止) in the 8th part. The third chapter discussed the evolution and the historical strata of initials in Haian Dialcet, including the evolution of Bang{邦)Fei(非) group, the development track of Wei(微):v'(?)'v'(?), Xie(邪):ts’'s,and the evolution of Ying(影)Yi(疑)Yu(喻).The fourth chapter discussed the evolution and historical strata of finals in Haian Dialect.Includes three strata about the three types [γ(?)/u/a] of Guo(果) group、the cause for vowel rise of main vowel/γ(?)/;the geographical distribution of Zhi(支)/Wei(微) Group merging into Yu(鱼) group;the differentiation of Zhi(止)/Xie(蟹)Group;the geographical distribution and historical strata of [ai/γ(?)] Zhi(支);the evolution of Xian(') /Shan(山)finals.The fifth chapter analsis the tone of Haian Dialect, including voiced onsets of Shang(上)/Qu (去)rhyme merging into voiceless Ping(平) rhyme, the develpoment of voiced and voiceless entering tone, and the lengthen of entering tone. The sixth chapter is monographic research. The first part introduced the frication of high vowels [i/y] of Haian and the surrounding dialects:the development about frication of [i/y] is unbalanced, there are both geographic and age differences. Under the strong influence of the Mandarin dialect, the new generation has been developed vowel/(?)/.The seconed part focused on the evolution and the historical strata about coda of Shen(深)Zhen(臻)Zeng|(曾) Geng(梗) in Tongtai Dialect. There are distribution of-ii/-i((?))η of Haian Dialect.Donglu、Nanxiang keep the/-η/coda,Xiahe、Haian Zhen/-η/ coda muted to nasalizations/-ii/. The coda/-η/of Shen(深)Zhen(臻)Zeng(曾) Geng(梗) is the bottom strata of Haian Dialcet. The primary cause of losing of/-η/is the main vowel changed the tongue position. At last,we summarized 6 criteria in dividing different parts of Haian Dialect. In the End,we summarized the main conclusions, innovation and deficiency of the thesis.
