Research On Zhu Zaiyu’s Musicology System

This paper takes the Musicology of Zhu Zaiyu as object and studies the parts which form its main contents.It reflects and researches on the Musicology of Zhu Zaiyu from the angles of theory and practice,specifically from the aspects of his identity academic background,music practice,music theory,Gong mode,music score,instruments,music composition with multi-disciplinary research method highlighting music philology and music analytics,together with historical anthropology and music structure.It probes into Zhu Zaiyu’s advantages and disadvantages as a music researcher in royal class by turning back to his historical domain,that is,putting him in his living background,tries to find the sources that he solved so many important issues in musicology,discovers his unknown achievements,further to decide his contribution and status in music field.Considering that Zhu Zaiyu studied musicology as a subject or at least am acade,oc sector which includes the contents of Gong mode,music score,instruments,music composition,this paper mainly analyzes these aspects to get to know his achievements on musicology from the angle of theory and practice.This paper includes five chapters and the conclusion.In the first chapter,it probes into Zhu Zaiyu’s social background with multiple social identities,his music thought with both art and science,and his life pursuit of academic,which consists of his academic background of music.In the second chapter,it discusses his musicology theories and practice basis.Through tracing back his musicology theory resources,we get to know that his musicology start point is pre-Qin period,the main current of his thought is the graceful music popular in the upper class society and folk music.The music theories of previous dynasties are his academic sources.In vast documents,he finds his domain after reading previous achievements.Chapter three introduces Zhu’s tune theory and practice.It makes profound discussion of questions about tunes,such as tune changes,Gong changes,reappearance every eight degrees and music starting and ending.There are abundant tune theories and practices in his books.This chapter researches the outstanding field.Chapter four introduces his music score.Zhu makes outstanding achievements in the field of stuff.He further develops the stuff schema existing in Ming dynasty and creates new stuffs.His main contributions to music stuff are large amount of creations and the flexibility in use.Chapter five introduces his research on instruments and music.He traces the history of Se instruments and renews the practice of Se.He makes the Se music come back to life and makes Gong changing practice,which without doubt is a great creation.Standard of music is the instrument to decide music that is created by him.With this instrument,Zhu Zaiyu makes a lot of practice on tune changing of instruments and music.His composition includes newly-composed music,lyrics and imitating music.He puts forward his unique opinion on music composition.He composes a large number of soloes of lyric,dance and music,he is the first one to create the stuff style of general score,and he creates the precedent of multiple voice orchestration.He puts forward many basic and core theories in music composition,such as Jie and Yan,multi pronunciations in singing,and so on.All these are Zhu Zaiyu’s creations and breakthroughs in these fields.Zhu Zaiyu’s researches on musicology involve the part of music discussion which he makes reasonable thought about his theories and practices.These contents can be seen in related chapters.In conclusion part,this paper summarizes its main opinions,discuses success and failure in the research,and foresees the future of further researches,expecting to make more efforts into it.After systematic sorting and research of Zhu’s musical achievement,we find that he had rigorous theory basis and practice system in this field,which is difficult to reflect in former individual researches.This paper puts Zhu’s achievements in musicology in his background and takes them as a whole to discover that he made great breakthrough,he set the new height of music research in Ming Dynasty and provided ways of later study and standard of modern musicology.Zhu Zaiyu’s achievements in musicology are rich mines which can be studied continuously.This paper provides a new angle and some references to study Zhu Zaiyu and gets some cognition which is different from former researches.Meanwhile,it inspires us to recognize his status in musicology.
