| This dissertation reviews the origin,style and influence of Jingdezhen’s ceramic sculptures from 1912 to 1949,the Republic of China era.It involves social situation,ceramic sculptors,works and ceramic materials and technology.This dissertation investigates the changes in style,material and technology evolution,the migration and status change of sculptors,and the interaction between regions,and analyses what is the root of this change,under the social background of the spread of Western learning to the East and the multiple conflicts in the Republic of China.The dissertation is expected to find a response in the glorious tradition of ceramic sculpture in Jingdezhen.Therefore,the research not only try hard to recall the past of ceramic sculpture,but also pay attention to the complexity of the social history during the Republic of China era,and try to draw the outline of the Jingdezhen ceramic sculpture in the changeable and complicated times,which is obscure and illegible.Starting with the microscopic historical details and the ever-lasting tradition of Jingdezhen ceramic sculpture,this paper links the details of history once again,and finds that the continuity of tradition,in the process of "change" and "unchange",indicates the end of one era and the arrival of another. |
