Compared with a single "object",contemporary art is increasingly showing a "holistic" state.By creating a specific "situation" and "atmosphere",the viewer can have a physical experience,and the original form of experience has also shifted from the senses to physical presence.There is also a considerable part of contemporary art practice that breaks through the limitations of specific forms and art museums,moves towards public space,becomes public art,and integrates into the communities,streets,landscapes,and cities we living in,enriching the experience of urban public spaces.Become an important part of contemporary urban culture and public culture.The global "turn to life aesthetics",the advent of an experiential society,and the expansion of the connotation and extension of the concept of "place" in contemporary art have made traditional aesthetic theories and critical discourses increasingly lacking.In the 1960 s,Hermann Schmitz,the founder of the new phenomenology,introduced "atmosphere" into phenomenology.On this basis,Gernot Boehme further proposed "atmosphere aesthetics",thinking that "atmosphere" is Intervening in the intermediary existence between the subject and the object,thus solving the ontological inability to locate the "atmosphere" for a long time,and developing a new aesthetics with "atmosphere" as the core concept.Today,humanities such as sociology,human geography,philosophy and aesthetics,architectural theory and practice have all shown an obvious "atmosphere turn",which also provides a new perspective and a more macroscopic vision for the place research of contemporary art.This article cuts into the study of "place" of contemporary art from the perspective of "atmosphere".It can also take care of the increasingly diverse and brilliant contemporary art practice,so that it can cross the boundaries of art,design,sculpture,installation,architecture,landscape and other disciplines,and let some typical atmospheres of places enter the common context of our topic discussion under.This article focuses on why "atmosphere" has become the aesthetic discourse of contemporary art research,and creatively puts forward: "Site atmosphere" is the main constituent element and construction object of space and place art from ancient times to the present;Duing to the changes in the relationship between artworks and places,the presentation of "place atmosphere" has gone through a process from "secret","covered" to "returned".When focusing on contemporary art,on the one hand,"atmosphere" has become the main object of expression of experimental contemporary art from the objective existence of a secondary position,showing a "prominent" state;It is also integrated into all aspects of our daily life and is in a "diffuse" state.Bohme’s atmosphere aesthetics is not only reception aesthetics,but also production aesthetics.As an art practitioner,the author tries to use the theory of emotional arousal of environmental psychology,and from the perspective of the viewer’s body perception,to discuss the creation of a typical place atmosphere,in order to provide some methodological reference for the practice of artistic creation.
