ABSTRACT The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a tool designed to use computer system to efficiently capture, store, update, manipulate, analyze and display all forms of geographically referenced information. It has been used in all fields. The Information System of National Economy and Social Development in Kezhou is built by Planning Board of Kezhou and Xinjiang Agricultural University. This system is based on GIS integrated technology. It provides an efficient,advanced and scientific management tool for decision-making body. This paper is mainly focused on the following parts, discussed the application of GIS to stockbreeding and forestry management.(1) The basic method of integrated development with Client/Sever development tool PowerBuilder and MapInfo;(2) OLE automatic technology;(3) The systematic design of stockbreeding and forestry special project;(4) The design of livestock capacitance calculation module;(5) The method of electronic map's making.
