Technology As A Process

Professor Yuan Deyu is a famous domestic scholar in the field of philosophy of technology. He is one of the founders of China's philosophy of technology. Based on the scientific history, his study is focusing on technology essence, technology development strategy, enterprise's technology innovation and industry technology. His philosophy of technology is representational, and his researching course reflects the history of Chinese philosophy of technology.This thesis uses literature method, historical method and logic analysis method. Chapter 1 introduces the vein of Yuan Deyu's philosophy of technology. Chapters 2-4 summarize and appraise his theory comprehensively. The last chapter concludes the characteristics and enlightenments of his theory.Technology as a process proposed by Yuan Deyu, is the theory about technology essence. It is a new method to study technology essence. It makes the technology concept clear for the technology-correlated disciplines. And it theoretically proves that it is necessary to study technology innovation and industry technology in philosophy. Yuan Deyu's technology innovation study is based on Sino-Japanese technology comparing .In his study, technology innovation is considered as the process of technological industrialization, commercialization and socialization. It gives theoretical guidance to Chinese technology innovation practice. Yuan Deyu explains the industry technology concept, brings the concept of technology embeddedness to technology action study, proposes the industries classification based on technology, and infers the direction of industrial structure optimization and industry technology development. He develops multi-disciplines research of the Chinese industry and the industry technology development based on theory of philosophy, economics, management and other disciplines.Yuan Deyu starts researching from technology history, assimilates the thought of Japanese technology theory, and forms a characteristic philosophy of technology path. Some enlightenments can be concluded from Yuan Deyu's philosophy of technology as follows. We should pay attention to the research of technology and technology innovation history. We should trace the overseas advance research diligently. We should do theoretical research according to practice problems.
