Since the early 1990s, intelligent total station came into the market, which has effected on the traditional precise engineering surveying greatly. Especially, in the field of the large-scale structure deformation monitoring, the using of intelligent total station can reduce the outside labor intensity enormously, and promote the efficiency and reliability by a wide margin. Surveying engineers have named it as the measurement robot.Based on intelligent total station, the integration technologies of an automatic measurement system have been studied in this thesis, such as the method of controlling the instrument, the framework of surveying database, and how to share the data by developing a website under B/S framework on the internet. After analyzing on some examples of the automatic measurement system applied in home and abroad, this thesis discussed the main problems about developing the system that confirms to the condition of our country. With regard to the characteristic of automatic measurement system, a commixture systemic structure has been designed. The controlling subsystem of the system is under W/S framework, and the data sharing subsystem of the system is under the B/S framework. Furthermore, it still introduced a method to construct a 3-tier surveying database applicated with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and ASP.NET. Aiming at the intelligent total station, the author programmed the software that named TSControl. It can control one or more instruments to perform the observation of measurement in rounds according to the national specifications. A remote database based on web has been designed, and a website for licensed users has been developed to provide the data sharing service on the internet. At last, the author designed a simulated experiment to validate the system in the laboratory Condition.
