GAT magnetic suspended Gyro Total Station is a high precision survey instrument which owned china knowledge right. Many real survey projects proved that it have realized the precision above±5 seconds and takes important role in the accurate underground surveying. Analyzing the source of errors and evaluating the precision of GAT total is an important work. Meanwhile, modeling and optimizing the underground through-survey procedure is another important research subject.Firstly, this paper briefly introduced the basic principles of GAT gyro total station. And then, based on the instrument structure, surveying procedure and instrument physic and dynamic motion, classified and analyzed the error sources of it. Thirdly, summarized the technique innovations and introduced the features and advantages of the GAT gyro total station. Finally, based on the Visual C++ 6.0 system, developed a through-survey modeling and optimizing software system. This system can adjust the survey control net data and adjust with imitated data to recognize the optimized location of gyro measurement to realize the optimized survey effect. This system provided the assistance designs functions to realize the dynamic optimizing of underground through-survey.The research significance of this thesis is that it basely classified and analyzed the sources of survey errors of GAT gyro total station which is basic to the survey data analyzing. Secondly, realized the modeling system of through-survey to imitate the basic principles of error distribution, and set up a basic visual test platform for dynamic optimizing of underground through-survey network.
