With the development and utilization of the foreign mineral resources, the assessment method and technology on it are getting more and more important. The effective assessment method and technology system of foreign mineral resources should not only be accurate, but also fast and prompt. So how to establish a set of the system is of great theoretic and practical significance.This paper takes the Laos Saisongben Nameng Mining Area as an example. Using the remote sensing technique, combined with geophysical prospecting information, geological mapping on the anomaly region of a large scale, with the aid of the modern advanced equipment XRF which can quickly and quantitatively measure the field samples, finally re-extracting and optimizing the integrated information of geology, geophysics and remote sensing based on MapGIS, the indication for ore prospecting is determined and the model set up. The conclusions are as follows:â‘ The remote sensing interpretation demonstrates that Laos Saisongben Nameng Mining Area is similar with PK Gold Deposit both in structure and lithology geological settings and it is a prospective area in seeking the large-scale porphyry and epithermal ore deposits. Simultaneously the remote sensing structure interpretation demonstrates that the present known ore deposits are mainly located at the side of the annular structure. It is concluded that mineralization is mainly related to the annular structure.â‘¡Small scope and large scale geological mapping on the anomaly regions take an important place for the following investigation, verification and project arrangement. The geological mapping on large scale to Laos Saisongben Nameng Mining Area suggests that the entire altered mineralization body lies on skarn which is the contact zone of granite and limestone.â‘¢XRF is of great value in use in the geological prospecting outdoors. The instrument is portable and could quickly detect the grade of the field samples, make quantitative evaluation to the altered mineralization body, indicate the prospecting thought timely. The measuring results show that Nameng Mining Area is prospective in mineral resources.â‘£The author obtains the prospecting model of Laos Saisongben Nameng Mining Area by GIS technology:First remote sensing interpretation demonstrates anomaly regions. Then Small scope and large scale geological mapping on the anomaly regions. Next using XRF quickly detect the grade of the field samples. Last making use of integrated information to analyze and to establish a set of rapid assessment method and technology of mineral resource in the open field. This method can be applied in the similar region while assessing the mineral resources outdoors in the future.
