Since the 1990s, vocational education of our country has been developed rapidly. However, as we all know, the majority of vocational colleges in our country are promoted from secondary vocational schools. Although vocational colleges'education has been developed at a surprising speed, higher mathematics textbooks which get along with the development of vocational colleges'education are not available. Most of the mathematics textbooks for vocational education are the"abstract"of undergraduate textbooks. These materials nearly do not get rid of the modle of undergraduate textbooks, so they are not fit for higher vocational teaching.Since 2000, higher education publisher has compiled many sets of higher mathematics programming teaching materials for vocational colleges and higher professional schools. Some vocational colleges also have attempted to compile teaching materials by themselves. The author chooses the textbooks of Suzhou Institute of Industrial Technology and has made a study on characteristics in terms of the selection of the textbooks contents, the organization of the textbooks and the design of the textbooks edition, effects the textbooks have made on the practical teaching and the views teachers and students hold about these textbooks.This thesis consists of three parts. The first part (Chapter1-2) is mainly made up of literature review and theories analysis. In this part, the author systematically introduces textbooks and its three other aspects, including the structure, the compilation and the basic theories of evaluation.The main contents of the second part (Chapter3-4) are comparison. First, the author gets to know the statement of students resources and the design of the curriculum in Suzhou Institute of Industrial Technology. And then the author makes an investigation and an interview to teachers and students on textbooks contents, capability development, edition design and teaching effects of three textbooks editions, including the editions of higher education, Suzhou University A, and Suzhou University B. Finally, the author focuses on three aspects comparisons of the chosen textbooks, including the textbooks'organization, the form of edition design and the contents. In the comparison of the contents, the author takes limit, derivative, the application of derivative , indefinite integral , definite integral, and the application of definite integral, etc for example and she compares three kinds of teaching materials used by the students of Suzhou Institute of Industrial Technology in terms of the contents of definition and axiom, the selection of examples, the introduction of definition and axiom, and the process of difficulties. Meanwhile, the author points out the problems of the contents in the practical teaching.The third part (Chapter5-6) is a conclusion. The author points out the advantages and disadvantages of textbooks and puts forward some suggestions about the modification of textbooks by comparison analysis and practical teaching study. The author points out that textbooks should stress on the real examples teaching and the problem-centered content system and computer assistant teaching.Finally, according to the conclusion of the comparison, the author attempts to compile a chapter of the definition of integral ( the square of the curved side trapezoid,the definition of definite integral, the mining of definite integral and reading materials) which includes the author's practice of the parts of thinking before class, exploration of problems and culture of maths.
