Thanks to the study of applied mathematics,which has approached to a higher level which was never reached in the history,human society is now developing quickly.Being the important part of mathematical attainments,application awareness and ability of mathematics has been widely paid close attention to.The reform of the new curriculum also emphasizes the training of students' ability to solve practical problems. To develop the awareness of maths application in secondary schools has been thought as one of the important comprehensive aims established in New Curriculum Criteria.All the maths teachers are required to take it into consideration further how to realize this aim effictively in secondary maths teaching.Teachers' ability has become a key element.Our students will face new curriculum after their graduation,so the training of mathematics awareness becomes necessary.This thesis aims to study the strategies on the training of major students' mathematics application awarness and mathematics application ability. Part one of this thesis is the introduction of the whole paper.With retrospecting the current situation of mathematics application awareness study at home and abroad,it mainly focuses on the reform of secondary mathematics curriculum,and proposes the main points of this thesis;this paper states the importance and currency of the study after the introduction of theoretical basis - constructional view of teaching.Part two attempts to define some concepts involved in the study,such as maths application awareness,maths ability;and make a comparation between these two so as to summarize the application of mathematics.Part three is about the survey and the result analysis. Through the use of questionnaire and maths application testing paper,the writer aims to find out those candidates' ideas, interests,attitudes,application,teaching contents, teaching methods and techniques about maths applied awareness, this survey was also conducted among some middle school teachers.Part four analysizes the strategies on the training of maths application awareness and maths application ability among maths majors in normal colleges.The writer proposes five ways to train the awareness and ability of maths application in normal colleges:helping college students undertand maths application awareness and ability;raising students ' awareness and ability in the teaching of maths course; consolidating students' s awarness and ability training by using maths constructive model;strengthening students' awareness and ability in some courses reconstructed in the normal university;and other aspects which are practical in the training of maths application awareness and ability among mathematics major students.
