Wide and thick polymer sheet is widely used in many fields, such as top rubber of conveyer belt, traffic and transportation mechanical cushion board, insulation board, and so on, and there isn't very perfect production equipment to produce wide and thick sheet in domestic rubber and plastic industry. The screw die has great superiority in producing wide and thick polymer sheet, so it is significant to study the flow simulation and parameters optimization on the screw die.In this study, it was made that the three-dimensional finite element model of flow field in the channels of screw die, in which the feed-in material flowed from one end. The pressure field and velocity field distribution in the die channels were simulated and analyzed by the large three-dimensional finite element software-ANSYS. The influences of main parameters on the pressure field and velocity field in the die and the uniformity of the production thickness in the die outlet were analyzed. It was analyzed that the pressure contours of every zone and thecontradistinctive pressure and velocity profiles of each cross section. On this basis, the clearance of the damp zone and some other parameters were analyzed and optimized separately. In this paper, it was mainly studied the influences of main parameters on flow field in the screw die, including the distance between the damp zone and the screw, the calibration length, the lead of the screw, the width of the screw flight, the boot diameter of the screw, the structure of the screw end, the section area of the side pass, the clearance of the damp zone, etc. Some significant conclusions were drawn by the analysis. It was revealed that the laws of the influences of the parameters on the flow field. And this provides comparatively reliable theory basis in the design of the screw die.
