Landfill is a popular method used in the garbage disposal in China. Due to the high concentration and complex composition of the landfill leachate, great damage to the environment will take place if no other measures are supplied. Thus the landfill leachate has attracted the attention of many researchers in sewage disposal and environmental engineering field. In this thesis, we investigated the leachate from Tianziling landfill site in Hangzhou using UASB and AMT process, and the efficiency and the process parameters were discussed. These results showed that the UASB and AMT process is a new approach for the disposal of landfill leachate, and can be used in other areas. The experimental results are as follows:1. The UASB and AMT process was a feasible method during the disposal of landfill leachate in Tianziling landfill site ( Hangzhou). After the process has been used, the concentrations of COD, BOD5, SS and NH3-N are 310-420 mg/L, 30-50 mg/L, 0-102mg/L and 500-600mg/L, respectively, which reached the third discharge standard of pollution control on the landfill site for domestic waste.2. The steady data can be obtained when the process was used for a long time. We found that When Q is equal to from 520 to 700 L/h, the COD from 3000 to 9333mg/L and BOD5 from 2000 to 5060 mg/L, the landfill leachate can give better results.3. At the room temperature, when the electric energy consumption of AMT decompose poll was 90-100 kw.h/d, the ratio between removal rates and electric energy consumption can get the best. And the optimal dosing amount in the coagulation poll was 600-800g/m3 for A12(SO4 )3 and 5 g/m3 for PAM.4. When the temperature is below 15℃, the removal rates of COD in the UASB system was only 27%, and the disposal effect in the AMT system did not change obviously, while the dosing amount and energy consumption will be remarkably increased. Thus, the technical parameter should be momentarily adjusted in work according to the temperature.
