The crank press is one of the most wide-ranging used Manufacturing equipment. It is widely used in the field of electrical and electronic equipment production, Automobile Manufacturing. Instrument-making industry,National defend industry and commodity product industry line etc.The project is aimed at the study of a new type of variable speed driving system of crank press . The system uses the PM brushless DC motor to replace the conventional asynchronous motor as crank press main driving; it uses energy-stored capacitor to replace energy-stored flywheel; on the other hand, a computer is used to control speed and torque of crank press, and improving its working capability, reliability and adaptability. The main research contents of the dissertation is as follows:(1) It studies the basic structure and working-theory of crank press driven byvarying speed.(2) It analyzes basic structure and working-theory of PM brushless DC motorand its operation characteristic and transfer functions. And then the power of servo motor is calculated according to crank press working load , kinematical characteristic, torque and rotational momentum.(3) A new type of controller of PM brushless DC motor based on IntelligentPower Module (IPM) is developed. The system block diagram is firstly introduced, and then the main circuit, control circuit which includes PWM circuit, Speed regulation circuit and Current regulation circuit etc are analyzed and designed, and some methods of anti-jamming brought forward according to its working circumstance. The control-strategies is discussed based on motion controlling model for used in crank press driven by varying speeds. The control-means and transfer functions of every circuit of control system is analyzed in detailed. In the end, a flow chart of control software is given.(4) The parameters of energy-storage capacitive system are analyzed and calculated according to the working load and kinematical characteristic of crank press driven by varying speed, In the end, its working circuit is given.(5) The experimental results and data are given.
