In the extrusion moulding, the research of die is an important part. With the development of the computer techniques, the computer technology is more and more used in polymer processing. For the complexity of the extrusion moulding, energetics and rheology must be used to study it. In the extrusion moulding, the quality and quantity of the products are affected violently by the distribution of the temperature, pressure and velocity. In recent years, the development of CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) in polymer processing has been remarkable, and it is expected to be more realistic in polymer processing. The aim of the present work is to develop a new computer model to study the flow of a polymer melt through the metering region of a die and in this article, a finite element method and computer program are employed.1.the author mainly introduced the method of the numerical simulation on temperature field and it's development and application in the polymer processing. Then it's given the studying emphases and contents according to the existing problems in studying at present.2. The melt flow in the die is physically described and the assume conditions in studying are proposed. Based on the normal continuous equation, moment equation and energy equation, the basic equation is simplified.3.the author succeed to do the numerical simulation on temperature field by using the mix method of FEM and FDM, Then a computer program is used to simulate on temperature field in the polymer molding.4. the result of the simulation and experimental data is compared. The present model is a combination of a previous mathematical model, a new numerical approach, and a computer program. It should be noted that most of the previous techniques were based on the use of simple numerical techniques such as the finite difference method or other methods that were not deflect the actual.. In the present proposed modes, a finite element method was selected and used in a new solution strategy. It is shown that using this method the results are closed to the actual data than those of the traditional algorithm previously.
