Injection molding is an important industrial process for the manufacturing of thermoplastic products and is suitable for producing plastic products with complex shape and accurate dimensional request. With the development of computer software and hardware, injection plastic mould CAE has achieved tremendous achievements. The defects can be discovered before mould is manufactured by using CAE software. This changes the traditional way that depends on experience and intuition to test and modify mould over and over.In this paper, a deep research on runner design, gate design and technology parameter design and so on in the injection molding process is done by making use of CAE software, and the optimization solution of runner design, gate design and molding process design is put forward that can improve the product quality. In addition, the plastic viscosity model, rheology theory and numerical calculation method is also studied initially.The main content of the study is composed of the four following respects:Firstly, not only the technology of the injection molding and injection plastic mould CAE but also the development situation of injection plastic mould CAE and flow simulation are introduced summarily.Secondly, flow simulation theory of injection plastic mould is introduced, mathematical model of flow process is established, and obtain easier mathematics model of numerical value solution, and realize that some physical variable how to affect molding technology.Thirdly, the paper analyzes and sets forth the theories and methods of runner design and gate design and how to confirm the size and shape of every runner's cross section and the type, number and location of gates. In addition, according to polymer rheology, the application of flow analysis based on CAE to the design of injection plastic mould including runner system design, gate design and process design is studied. And optimization algorithm of runner system and flow chart of optimization of gate design are put forward and are validated by examples.Fourthly, when some properties and other request is put forward ,the proper material, produce form, injection equipment and mold structure are selected according to the principle of rationality in economic and feasibility in technique. The select and control of the technology parameters such as temperature, pressure and time are the main factors to be considered. It has become the keystone in research to fix and control the technology parameters reasonably in order to guarantee the plastics quality and increase the productivity. The paper discusses how the main technology conditions affect the quality of the plastics. The technology parameters can be fixed reasonably simulating the plastics molding process with the injection molding CAE software.
