Pumping units are drives on the ground of rod pumping system in oil field. Their quantity is over ninety per cent of the whole quantity of the equipments of oil extraction in oil field. Among these pumping units, the use of beam-pumping units is the broadest. In this thesis, the back-placed beam-pumping unit (include conventional beam-pumping unit and eccentric placed pumping unit) is studied, the kinematics and dynamics simulation and optimizing design of it have been made.Firstly, the detailed analysis and calculate of the dynamics parameters as suspensory point load, pure toque of speed reducer shaft etc and kinematics parameters of conventional beam-pumping unit and eccentric placed pumping unit which are in services in oil field have been made combining the basic theory of present beam-pumping unit to provide theoretic foundation for the kinematics and dynamics simulation and optimizing design of pumping unit.Secondly, the simulative software has been made using MATLAB to simulate the suspensory point load, velocity, acceleration and pure toque of speed reducer shaft of pumping unit on any place and the displacement, velocity, acceleration of main componentof pumping unit and the forces of linked point of two components, so the changes of the motion and the force of pumping unit and the geometry parameters' influence on the main performances of pumping unit have been dynamic analyzed.Finally, the optimizing designs of the geometry parameters of pumping unit four-rod-framework and its important part—connecting rod and the crank balance phase angle have been made combining the theory of optimizing design, corresponding VIATLAB optimizing design software has been made, in the meantime, the kinematics parameters and the dynamics parameters of the pumping unit optimized have been simulated and the result of simulation has been compared and analyzed with that before being optimized.
