To meet the request of mass manufacturing of plastic profile for the high-speed and stable mold, we analyze in an all-round way the cooling and distortion process of profile in calibrator and cooling tank used FEM based on thermodynamics theory and present the theory foundation and method of rational design in allusion to some mistake in mold designing.This paper put forward for the first time the concept of strain affecting the design of calibrator's length and present a better method of deciding calibrator's length which consider both temperature and strain. It confirms the strain law of profile through calibrator and cooling tank and gives theory foundation of deciding the figure of calibrator wall when design. By comparison different temperature field which are affected by the lay-out of cooling section, this paper uncovers the importance of uniform cooling when design cooling section of calibrator.All of these put forward the theory foundation and feasible method of deciding important parameter which assure stable manufacturing when design high-speed extrusion mold.
