Municipal Wastewater Treatment Technique Decision Support System

The environment protection in the city plays an important role in China. The treatment of municipal wastewater has been widely studied by scientific researchers and engineers. At present, based on various water qualities, different effluent requirements and higher economic and environmental indexes, there are many municipal wastewater treatment techniques. How to understand these techniques systemically, and how to choose the most appropriate technique to treat water qualities are becoming a puzzle to many researchers and engineers. So, we introduce a decision support system (DSS) in municipal wastewater treatment to actualize the object choosing in municipal wastewater treatment techniques. DDS is an integrated system combined computer techniques with decision science techniques. In this paper, we explained the basic theories and methods about the construction of DDS, used it into the decision process to choose municipal wastewater treatment techniques, and constructed a decision system based on database and model base. According to the removal rate of the correlative contamination in the city wastewater treatment techniques and the objective request of the effluent quality, the system provides the optimum municipal wastewater treatment technique users needed through favorable man-machine interface. It is stated in the paper about the methods of object selection of wastewater treatment technique. The detailed practical plan and outline have been designed and studied. The models of method base and database of wastewater treatment technique for DSS have been established. This system explains the plan for realizing wastewater techniques decision-making and gives a detailed description of the designing process with the consideration of municipal wastewater treatment technique. The innovation of this paper is that the database and DSS into the domain of wastewater treatment are introduced and choosing the object of wastewater treatment technique is realized. Moreover, based on theoretical discourse and practical design, the paper explains the problems and prospects further improvement direction of the system.
