| Diesel cold flow improvers can observably improve the low temperature flow properties of diesel fuels. The application of cold flow improvers is important for increasing the production of diesel fuel and improving the diesel fuel/gasoline ratio and increasing the economic benefit of finery.By analyzing national and international literature, a series of cold flow improvers for diesel fuels are synthesized. According to the results of the cold filter plugging point (CFPP) test, these flow improvers improved the flow properties of diesel fuel effectively. The results showed different diesel cold flow improvers had different sensitivities on the same diesel fuel.It was indicated that the performance of the cold flow improver was influenced by the composition of the improver and diesel.Especially the one based on T1804 has much better effect than T1804 and the wax crystal disperser has excellent effect on Shi jiazhuang 0 # diesel fuel. In this paper, and the mechanisms of action of the cold flow improvers are discussed here. The experimental results show that the flow improver synthesized by mixed alcohol is better than those synthesized by mono-alcohol on decreasing the CFPP. When the composition of the side chain in the flow improver matches the distribution of n-paraffin in diesel fuel, or the wax crystal disperser contains polar groups, the function of flow improver is the best. |
