Yalu River Wetland National Nature Reserve was built in 1987, which was approved as a state-level nature reserve by the State Council on Dec 1997, which was included in the East Asian - Australian Shorebird network on July 25, 1999 by Wetlands International-Asia Pacific Management Committee members and concluded with the New Zealand sisters protected areas, which steps scientific research, annunciation and management into the international ranks. In 1996, that is the beginning of the creation of protected areas, we launched a comprehensive study of natural resources, formed an integrated inspection report. After 10 years of construction and management, biodiversity changes significantly, species and habitats evolutes, the phenomenon of replacement of old and new species takes place, and that biodiversity survey and research work is developed. The ecological system is complex and the biodiversity is rich. Biological belt is unique in the same latitude, which is the important biological gene bank, and because of it's connected with North Korea, functionally Northeast Asian migratory birds on their way to the idle time; there is far-reaching international significance. Therefore biodiversity surveys and research is very necessary.Biological diversity is the foundation for investigation. We divided protected areas into biodiversity resources and biodiversity survey, which is also divided into:(1) Animal Resources investigation and study. In the area of birds, fish, amphibians, mammals, zooplankton and benthic fauna species and so on, the investigation and research was performed.(2) Plant resources investigation and study. In the area of aquatic, wetland plants and other species, background investigations and studies are conducted.(3) Soil and land use surveys. Right soil, land use background investigations and researches are conducted. (4) Environmental Baseline Survey and Research. For the protection of thesurrounding, natural areas and the local environment overview of the endof the investigation and research is conducted.True and comprehensive reflection of the Yalu River wetland biodiversity status, and contrast with protected areas a decade ago. We identify the impact on protected areas, the urgent need to address issues of sub-study, migratory birds' ecology; Eagle ecology research, at the same time we have to tackle with the protection of species richness, diversity of the ecosystem. As to rare species, the invasion of alien species, biodiversity, we access to a lot of information, drawing on the people who has already published research results and considered the most protected areas of north of the coastal wetlands of the particularity a targeted biological diversity index system for the protection of biodiversity assessment. In order to meet the biodiversity protection evaluation and research needs. Finally, in the breakdown of biodiversity research and evaluation of the integrated circumstances, and through in-depth scientific research, we put forward protection measures from three aspects, the protection of biodiversity direction and biodiversity protection measures (policies and measures, management measures) and the incentives. There are 511 animal species in protected area, including vertebrates (including fish, amphibians, birds, mammals) 340 species, invertebrates (including benthic animals, zooplankton) 171 species. As including the Yalu River estuary and the ocean, abundant water quantity folder with a lot of salt and organic nutrition and the types of protected areas rich in plankton, coupled with favorable hydrological conditions, good quality, are suitable for growth and reproduction, which is spawning and feeding of the fine establishments. There is rich bird resource, the existing 15 orders of birds of 250 species and 43 families. Waterfowl six of which 17 Branch Head 123 species of terrestrial birds nine orders, 26 families and 127 species. The overwhelming majority ancient northern sector types, the summer migratory birds of 101 species (birds of 43 species), 22 winter migratory species (birds of 14 species), 26 species of birds (poultry without water), 103 species of birds (66 species of water birds). 123 species of waterfowl and migratory birds in the summer birds most, accounting for 88.6% of the total number of waterfowl, especially shore birds, 4-5 year in the spring is the peak of their movement in Erdaogou core, at the most visible movement population reached more than 500,000. So Yalu River Wetland Reserve also known as identified at the world's largest bird migration idle time, Northeast Asia is an important migratory bird center.Protected areas lie in the northernmost part of China's coastline, and adjoin with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. China holds more comprehensive coastal wetland types of protected areas. Protected areas are inland wetlands and water ecological types and marine and coastal ecological types of complex ecosystem, which not only retains the original northern coastal wetland integrity, also maintain the Northeast and North China species characteristics of the interface region and the Northeast coastal wetland wildlife genetic, biological survival and reproduction place. There are rich biological resources, animals (except insect) 511 species, 344 plant species. It not only stores the rare and endangered animal resources. More importantly, the wildlife gene pool is constructed, provided lasting service to humanityThe first comprehensive study of biodiversity of Danton coastal areas was conducted particularly and deeply, which apply a lot of data, explore research methods of biodiversity of wetland types of protected areas, established a Wetland Protection biodiversity evaluation system and sum up specific protection measures for biodiversity conservation; which take on great reference value for other wetland types protection of biodiversity home and abroad.
