A Study And Evaluation On The Index System For Sustainable Development Of A County

A county consists of towns and countries. Turning-to-town has been developed quickly in China now. In the process of turning to town, environment and resource problem is more and more prominent. For the sake of achieving the basic aim of the county environmental sustainable development, we need establish the index system and evaluative method that can reflect the coordinative scale of a county's environmental, economic and social development. That offer us the scientific basis for the decision of the county's development.This paper uses the method of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine the weight of indexes, the index system for sustainable development of a county is set up from three aspects: economical, social life and resource and environment. Finally, a pilot study is carried out with Feidong county in Anhui province as an example, analysis the data of Feidong county from 2002 to 2005, an evaluation system of sustainable development is developed for efficient and accurate evaluation of the development of a county. Finally, find the problem of Feidong county in the sustainable development and propose a series of strategies to these problem.At last, the paper uses the Factor Analysis method to evaluate the sustainable development of Feidong county and compares the result with the evaluation from the AHP method, in order to certify the result from AHP method is properly. The paper will provide new ideas and methods for the following works.
