The OTR strip winding tread line of the Third Sub-factory, Guizhou Tire Company Ltd. was put into use in 1998, Characterized by cold feed, hot extruded strip and cold winding layer-by-layer winding tire tread.The electrical control system of the production line is a typical PLC-based electromechanical transmission control system. It consists of DC speed regulating control system ofφ120 extruder, DC Servo control system of the winding inter-lock (profiling roll, drum cooler, winding drum) and the exterior relay-contact control system.Owing to the faults of the original design, wearing of equipment and malfunction, six problems influencing the output and quality of tread winding production have occurred to the line. There are: a lot of electrical malfunctions for DC speeding governing system, the aging of the original PLC, many I/O terminal damages and too few winding recipe number (3), lack of operation interface between human and machine, the tread cross section dimension and the winding and paste effect not satisfying the demands of technology and quality, low speed and poor efficiency etc. This thesis elaborates and has executed the technological renovation alternative to solve these problems: the electromechanical transmission system based on FX1N PLC has newly been designed, the dimension and roll-in device have been improved.The technique renovation has improved the speed regulating mode of DC speed regulating system, and increased its output power; the software and hardware system of Mitsubishi FX1N-40MT mini-type PLC and expanding analogue units have been added; AC frequency conversion speed regulating system and AC servo control system have been newly designed; F940GOT color operation terminal has been adopted as the human machine operation interface to realize the functions of communicating with PLC, conversion of data, displaying of phases and soft component conversion; programming softwares of GX Developer and GT Designer are applied to design tread winding's user program to enlarge the winding recipe number from 3 to 25 so as to develop the data handling capacity of PLC's data memory to the greatest; infrared ray photoelectric switches are adopted to measure and control the continuity of winding strip feeding; the function of drum protection has been perfected; the orifice of the extruder head is improved and double roller rubber strip sheeter has been added, and cross section dimension of strip is determined by roller former's orifice; the three roller paste pressing device has been transformed into five roller paste pressing device to increase the rolling pressure so as to improve the rolling effect of winding tread. After technique renovation, the control system is characterized by high degree automation, precise and no-joggling orientation, visible and convenient Chinese operation interface, high data security, stable running and simpler hardware structure compared with the original one, etc.It is proved that the above improvement has perfected the automatic control function of PLC control system, has bettered geometrical shapes the compactness of the tread, etc. As a result, the first pass percentage of OTR tire tread winding has been promoted from below 90% to over 98%; and the winding production capacity has been improved from 12 tire /8h to 20 tire/8h with annual output value increase over 16.8 million RMB Yuan and with spare part cost saving over 16,000 Yuan RMB. It not only satisfies the target of quality improvement, consumption reduction, yield increase, and cost saving, but also improves the system running stability of the OTR strip winding tread line on the whole.
