The security and reliability of mine hoist have closed relation with brake. So it's important to make monitor diagnose and maintenance of the brake in hoist. The monitor system, which based on CAN BUS, apply CAN field BUS technology of the monitor of the brake in hoist, including monitor, diagnose and protect.Firstly, this paper presents a brief introduction of CAN BUS technology, brake in hoister, and it analyzes the principle and character of the disk brake in hoist, determined the monitor parameter. Next it details the principle of the CAN BUS, based on the circumstance of the mining and the character of the CAN BUS technology included good real-time, remarkable dependability and so on. Then it presents a plan about the monitor system of brake in hoist, which based on CAN BUS. This monitor system consists of monitor computer, CAN/RS232 protocol conversion module, and the intelligent node of brake in hoist. This paper has an overall detail for the hardware and software design of the monitor system and builds a good interface by VB. Secondly studied the application with the arithmetic of back-propagation network in the fault diagnosis of the brake system based on the fault principle of the brake and the data. Simultaneously simulate it with MATLAB and it is feasible.Finally a conclusion was draw from the work of this paper, and point out what should be revised and implemented.
