With the improvement of people' s living standard, the requirement of plastic products and plastic injection mould is increasing day by day, which made injection mould for plastic become more important. But at present there are more problems in the process of designing the injection mould for plastic, such as a lot of repeated work, low efficiency and quality, long period of exploitation etc.The secondary development of CAD system is the key method to resolve these problems. Aiming at this, the subject about study and development of the injection mould for plastic product based on simulation was given. Combining the actual circumstance in the business enterprise and based on many materials, the developing tools such as Family Table,Pro/Program,Pro/Toolkit on Visual C++ 6.0 environment was used to further develop Pro/Engineer Wildfire and a 3D parametric system was established ,which could be used widely.In this system, MFC in Visual C++6.0 was utilized to develop the interfaces, and compiled all the program functions. Through the study of this subject, the results and conclusions are got as follows: 1) The main system frame based on secondary development of Pro/E was established. The part design section, mold base design section, standard part parameter design section, gate location system as well as eject pin auto-assembly section were developed. 2) The whole design of this mold base system was completed. The method of using Layout to assemble all the mold base and parts is put forward, which laid a foundation for the popularization of mould standard parts and improved the utility of Pro/Engineer software. 3) The plastic mold standard data base of injection sprue,locating ring,guide bushing and bolt was established. The method of building library mentioned in the article has certain popularization nature and users can expand the standard part library for the special application when necessary, which can improve the developing efficiency and quality. 4) The date exchange between CAD and CAE of Concurrent Engineering was realized. The simulation of warpage to the product was successful and the mold design and injection parameter was optimized. 5) The feasibility of the second developing was realized. Pro/Engineer software, which has the characteristics of full associatively and parametric, was adopted as the platform of second developing. This assured the advancement of the platform and reduced the workload. 6) This system's data management fully accords with the interface technology of Visual C++ 6.0, so that it made it possible for users to re-exploit within their own range.In a word, based on simulation of injection molding and by establishing this 3D parametric system, the working efficiency of Pro/E was improved, the difficulty of operating was reduced and the interface of Pro/Engineer was optimized, thus it has high practical value. In this article, the secondary development process of Pro/E was explicated in detail, and the technology of secondary development of Pro/E also has some reference value for other domain applications.
