The deepwater drilling platform is the main bottleneck which restrict deep-sea exploration of Chinese oil company. Inclement deep sea drilling condition needs drilling platform equipped with advanced, efficient and reliable drilling equipments. The configuration and layout optimization of drilling system are significant to deep water drilling performance. The key technology research on layout design of semi-submersible platform drilling system is studied in this paper, mainly include the following details:The particular offshore drilling technics are summarized and analyzed firstly. The dual drilling operation,pipe handling and riser handling technics are focused; the stability influence of platform with different risers store form is studied.The configuration type selection research of drilling system is presented from theoretically and practice application secondly: The fundamental method of configuration type selection design is proposed; and the configuration type selection design of the objective platform drilling system is completed; the 3D models of main drilling equipment are established by Pro/E software.A management system of deepwater drilling platform and drilling equipment is developed by Access and VBA programming language, effective information management and retrival are achieved.Solving method of platform layout problem based on genetic algorithm is discussed: the feature of platform layout problem is analyzed, the theory and the key technology of layout problem solving by genetic algorithm is illuminated, the related math model and formula are deduced; A new method-hybrid encoding genetic algorithm(HCGA) is proposed to solve platform layout problem; Considering the process constrains, a new processing method of allocated body is put forward based on process analysis. Taking upper deck layout design of platform for instance, optimal layout model is established and solved by HCGA, the feasibility and accuracy of the theory is explained, aiming the defect of the solve method, suggestion for improvement are given.
