The press brake is an equipment used to incurvate abroadly, strength and stiffness of body of press brake influence quality and accuracy of workpieces. The traditional design method usually adopts stress check, or the calculate method based on the material mechanics and structural mechanics. As a result, the analysis of force is not thorough, and the solution is not exact. Furthermore, the structure of the flank could not be determined by the stress distribution, and it caused unnecessary waste. Usually a feasible design program can be gained, but not the best one.This paper researches 3200t press brake of Tianshui, using ANSYS to analyze slider, hosing and workbench of press brake, and optimize every part.First, found three dimension models of three parts of the press brake and obtain their institutions of strength and stiffness, make it as a foundation of optimization. Based on the result of finite element analysis and working features of press brake, improving on structures of press brake, strength and stiffness.Second, compiling optimal program of slider, hosing and workbench of the press brake and optimizing them with ANSYS finite element analysis. The optimal results indicate that not only remedying flaws of structures of the press brake and improving strength and stiffness, but also retrenching material and reducing cost.Third, this paper designs a distortion testing system for the hosing of press brake, it is easy to be installed at workplace to test the situation of distortion and stress. The accordance of the targets of performance and finite element analysis data proves success and effect of finite element analysis of the press brake through testing hosing.Finally, this paper based on the method of finite element analysis provides theoretical basis for designing and technology of manufacture. There is a function of illumination and promotion for analyzing and designing of press brake.
