In the course of printing, the accuracy of color reproduction is one of the key factors in evaluating the quality of prints. So it is necessary to detect and control the color information during the printing process. To provide a printing image with an accurate spectral reflectance model is an important subject in this field. Through the analysis of the light scattering within the ink and paper. we provide the fact of the total incident flux that contains both the collimated flux and the diffuse flux which were caused by the specular reflection and diffuse reflection on the air-ink interface in the process of color reproduction. Considering the phenomenon of the energy of these two parts of the flux are changing constantly. we revise the two-flux kubelka-munk model by four-flux model based on the radiative transfer equation. At the same time, a new four-flux model for calculation of the reflectance of print with rough substrate is established with the Beckmann-Spizzichino model which describe the reflectance of the incident flux with arbitrary rough substrate. Finally, the new model is demonstrated to be reasonable through the theoretical analyses and data simulation. The new model provides a theoretical method to develop on-line quality detector, printing color management system, ink autocontrol system of printing press and so on.
