Recto-verso printing is widely used in book, newspaper and magazine. There will be more companies adopt recto-verso printing along with the development of science and the requirement of environment. Furthermore, the quality of recto-verso printing will be enhanced highly. So, it's very necessary to establish a better color prediction model. The main work of this article is to build a model that can predict the color of recto-verso printing through controlling relative parameters of paper and ink. The core of the thesis is studying the color law of the recto-verso printing based on Kubelka-Munk model. Firstly, assuming the paper and ink is uniform in optical, according to the diffuse light transfers law in turbid media, dividing to printing into recto oil layer middle paper layer, verso oil layer and ink penetration layer in vertical direction, build multi-layer Kubelka-Munk two-flux recto-verso printing color prediction model. Secondly, extending the model to the condition that the illumination light not only included diffuse light but also direction light, analyzing optics behavior of photon in oil based on four-flux theory, build Kubelka-Munk four-flux recto-verso printing color prediction model. The main innovation of this article embodies in the following two points: one, considering the ink penetration; two, according to energy conservation law, dividing the printing into multi-layer and build color prediction for recto-verso printing. Lastly, discuss the application of multi-flux radiate transfer theory in printing. In the end of the thesis, using relative soft to simulate the model, prove the model is reasonable in theory. The model has great help in printing industry, such as automatic detection, color management, oil control, surface science of paper, and so on.
