With the improvement of environmentally friendly consciousness, energy-saving and environment-friendly products like insulating glass,safety glass are widely used in daily life.The glass processing equipment is required to meet more highly requirements. Although the traditional manual processing method is hardly to satisfy current needs, the research on glass deep-processing equipment is still in its initial stage. Glass cutting machine is one of the key equipment for glass deep-processing. However, in China, the imported cutters are mainly used while almost no developed domestic equipment supplied on relevant market. Therefore, it is urgent to develop domestic glass cutting machine to reduce production cost and speed the development of glass processing equipment industry in China.In this paper, "IPC+ Open-architecture CNC system" is applied as control mode with the require ments of process and characteristics of mechanical structure considered, make full use of IPC and CNC controller by combine ability deal with information and motion control respectively. Hardware platform and software platform are built up by control assignment.The plan of control system hardware which make up of IMAC motion controller and IPC is presented in detail. Control software consists of CNC software and human-machine interface, PLC program complete control assignment of actuator according to process requirement, the high precision cutting is realized by motion control program. Visual C++ is uesed to develop the human-machine interface. User module and test module are designed separately according to function which will make it easy to operate and maintain. The main innovation points of this paper are presented as follows:the parts which direction of motion is X droved by dual servo motors, this mode simplify design and reduce weight of moving parts. Film removing unit was designed for this machine, which can be flexible customized according to the user's reauirements. The whole process was improved by adding removing film unit and cutting on one location. This paper has presented a new method on raw glass initial posture verification of CNC glass cutting machine, and performs the post-processors based on the initial position of the raw glass, the initial position determined by this method has high precision. This process is completely automated compared with traditional process.Through test, this machine has fulfilled the expected requirement and worked successfull y,which established the the foundation for further development of glass deep-processing and glass processing equipment industry in China.
