Multi-drum centrifugal extractor is a kind of mechanical device which uses high-speed rotating drum to make light and heavy two-phase liquid extraction. Opening is an important factor to consider in design of multi-drum centrifugal extractor. Existing extractor design standards,on the opening of the selection method,usually based on experience openings,Such as referencing filter separator opening way opening,it can not be fully applicable to the liquid-liquid separation equipment multi-drum centrifugal extractor.But centrifugal extractor opening's problems are closely related to the drum's strength and stiffness,flow field within the drum.So we need to do further research to the problem of centrifugal extractor's opening.On this paper,we use three-dimensional solid modeling software-Pro/E establishing triangle, square, isosceles triangle, and rectangular openings arranged three-dimensional calculation model.application ANSYS finite element analysis techniques,by simulating the drum's stress and strain distribution in the different distributions and different aperture opening,we obtained relationship between openings'distribution,the size of opening and stress,deformation;At the same time,establishing different pore size and pore bridge width model of the drum, for static structure analysis,obtained the effects between pore size,pore bridge width and stress,deformation;using GAMBIT software to build plane model and entity model of the centrifugal extractor,using computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT,through simulating the single-phase flow in the drum,it visual dynamic displays the liquid's velocity,pressure distribution,turbulence intensity distribution and the trajectories in the drum,obtained the regular pattern between the openings'distribution and flow characteristics.Conclusions obtained in this paper and data,it provides theoretical basis to the localization of centrifugal extractor and has some reference value for optimizing design on the same products.
