Study On The Theories And Methods Of Eco-city Construction Planning

The eco-city building has become an important measure to accelerate construction of a modern and international city, strengthen the city's comprehensive competitiveness and improve people's living standards. It has become the inevitable trend of urban development. Since the 70s of 20th century, the international research on eco-city theory and practice obtain rapid development. With the fast pace of our urbanization, eco-city has become a focus of all the people. Eco-city building is important practical way to achieve sustainable development of cities and regions.China is currently in economic transition and urbanization period, many cities are seeking an effective way to relief the pressure of population, resources and environmental degradation from the process of urbanization. The research of theory, method and practice about eco-city building just adapt to the current city's development, which can provide favorable decision support to promote the coordination of the city and regional economic, social and ecological environment.The paper introduces the historical background about Urban Ecological Construction Planning theory and practice and the recent development of it, then proposed the purpose the significance and the technical route of the study. Second the paper applied the ecological footprint theory which was popular to study the regional sustainable situation from the point of view as the using of natural resource, the consumption of energy and the emission of castoff. The application of ecological footprint theory is able to show the current situation of ecological footprint and ecological capacity in region, and reflect the regional capacity for sustain able development to guide the sustainable development of cities construction. Then the eco-sensitivity of Changzhi City was analyzed so as to identify the most natural and the most vulnerable regions. The protection of the region was not only to ensure that the natural basis of the city suffer from destruction, but also to guide the ecological construction. At last, some problems about the ecological city construction in Changzhi were inflected through ecological footprint and eco-sensitivity analysis. The paper proposed some specific strategies and corresponding measures which were to guide eco-city building of Changzhi during the twelfth "Five-Year Plan" period, with theorical and practical significance.
