With the improvement of steel-making technology, more and more electric arc furnace plays their role in manufacture. Because of their own work characteristics, it will impact power grid significantly. In order to maintain the stability of power system and quality of power supply, high capacity and quick response, reactive power compensating System is indispensable. This paper based on TSC style fuzzy control reactive power compensating system to keep down impact resistance payload.This paper first introduce work characteristics of electric arc furnace and its impact on power grid, the way to select principle and mode of reactive power compensating, principle of TSC and its infrastructure, and then analyze transient process of TSC input, selection of input time, group method for capacitance and their connection. Later concerning to low power factor of electric arc furnace, two input and single output fuzzy control logic system is used to implement the reactive power compensating of electric arc furnace, and then analyze realization process of fuzzy control, control principle of TSC style reactive power compensating system of electric arc furnace is summarized, and mandani organic fuzzy reasoning is used, in the end lookup table of fuzzy control is obtained.Simulation model is based on MATLAB/SIMULINK environment, first MATLAB aid analyze is performed, verify the reasonability of fuzzy controller of this paper, and later simulation is done on the whole reactive power compensating system, the result demonstrates that TSC style reactive power compensating system based on fuzzy control can improve power factor, maintain system voltage. It also make it clear that TSC style reactive power compensating system based on fuzzy control is of certain value for engineering application.
