Based on the analysis on the structure of the steering wheel made of magnesium alloy, and the design principle of the gating system, top casting, ring casting and aside casting forms are designed by mean of UG. By comparing the simulation results of temperature field, flow field and defects produced by Flow-3d, it is shown that the top casting is the better one.On the basis of determining the gating system of the magnesium alloy car wheel frame, by the principle of the orthogonal test, the group of casting process parameters was sorted. Numerical simulation about each group of the design program was presented by software Flow-3D, and their respective flow field, temperature field and defect distribution pictures were gotten. By comparing and analyzing the simulation results, the effect of pressure casting process parameters on the forming process of the product and the optimal process parameters were investigated. The results show that when injection speed is 3m/s, preheating temperature is 400K and pouring temperature is 925K, when injection speed is 5m/s, preheating temperature is 400K and pouring temperature is 925K。...
