| Edge crack in strip steel is constantly happened in the cold rolling process, which lower the quality of strip steel directly, even worse, it will cause the tape break.Because of the brittleness of silicon steel, it's easier to have edge crack in the cold rolling process.The metalloid hard inclusion at the fracturesurface of cold rolled edge is found by using SEM and EDSwich isone of the main causes of the edge crack. The metallographicanalysis is also carriedout forthe edge material of the hot rolled plate, and it is foundthat the edge crack of silicon steel with larger grain size appears to be more slanting. At the same time, the trimming micro crack is founded at the edge of hot rolled plate, and it's another main cause of the edge crack.The analysis of the edge cracks for different types of cold rolled silicon steel is made by SEM. It shows that different types of silicon steel has different forms of edge crack.The silicon steel containinghigher P, Si element tends to have brittle ruptureeasier.With the aid of finite element code ABAQUS/Explict, the cold rolling process of strip steel containing edge notch and slag inclusion is simulated thoroughly. The deformation and stressstate nearthe defects are obtained from the simulation results. Based onthedeformation and stressstate of the defects, the effect of different cold rolling process parameters on the defective strip steel in cold rolling process is examined. It is expected to getthe reasonable cold rolling process parameters to reduce the edge crack from our research. |
