As well as we known, WEDM-HS is the power processing equipment, which was independently created by our country. With the unique advantages of simple structure and inexpensive cost, the equipment have been widely used in processing fields such as the precision machining parts fields and special material fields. The wire-feeding system is the important component of WEDM-HS. The tension must be controlled to minish vibrations of wire electrode and fix the wire electrode precise position. Hence, the wire-feeding system is one of the important targets to evaluate the performance of WEDM-HS. Under such a condition this paper was proposed.The paper is mainly about the research that is aimed at the improvement design of the wire-feeding system in WEDM-HS. The new development of WEDM-HS and wire-feeding system are stated in the paper on the basis of a mass of domestic and overseas technique literature on WEDM-HS, analyzed that the different applications of the constant tension control for electrode wire of the WEDM-HS make an impact on surface integrity. Then the new wire-feeding system with double canisters and the F-PID control strategy to make the tension constant was proposed in this paper.The size of the main part was designed and calculated according to the related knowledge of mechanical design. when all the work is done, the model of the wire-feeding system was built in the three dimensional software Pro/E, The kinematics simulation function of ADAMS is used for the simulation analysis of the kinematics features of the wire-feeding system, and then the feature curves of velocity of the machine under a specific motion status are obtained, the results meet the design requirements. Considering the deficiency of modeling wire electrode in ADAMS, secondary development was carried out, The bushing connection modeling is proposed based on bushing connection modeling, which provided condition for dynamics simulation. The loading performances of magnetic particle brake(MPB) which was adopted as actuator and the F-PID control strategy was proposed in the wire-feeding system. A math model of the wire-feeding system was set up and a system transforming function was presented with classical control theory. And then F-PID compound algorithm is designed, the three different controller modeling of constant tension control system were respectively simulated with MATLAB/Simulink, which was PID control, fuzzy control and F-PID compound control. Though the comparison among the simulations of three control controllers, the result shows that the settling time is reduced and the overshoot can be effectively suppressed F-PID controller for F-PID control to make the tension constant as soon as possible. Hence, the feasibility of F-PID control was verified.
