With the development of the oil pumping unit's technology, the idea of new pumping unit came out, that is, pumping long ring rack. As the traditional physical method is a waste of time and costs a lot. What's worse ,unless changing the index of pumping unit ,some won't work..besides the nonlinear factors make the analysis process more complex and results cant be seen through straight vision . in order to design and improve this pumping unit ,virtual simulation technology is becoming the main way to solve such complicated situation.This paper mainly gives the information of the situation of pumping unit in and abroad ,basic knowledge related to virtual simulation technology ,application of Adams software ,introduction of pumping long rack .According to the working theory of pumping long ring rack unit ,simulation analysis of various parts of pumping unit is studied .On this basis ,rack pumping unit model is built with the technology of virtual prototype ,thus making simulation analysis by means of dynamics and kinematics. In accordance with the change of parameter ,the influence that is caused by rod load and frequency of strokes is studied.Then make comparison between the result of simulation analysis and theoretical mathematics so as to figure out the accuracy of simulation analysis. Through the study of the application of pumping unit and the analysis of dynamic process of pumping unit, disadvantages and shortcomings can be found ,then make improvement of the main components .meantime using Ansys workbench software to check the assembly of pumping unit so that the security is assured .At the same time ,make analysis the former six model resonance and find out the possible frequency of the resonance of pumping unit, which can offer a reference to the choice of generator and make the vibration as small as possible .
